We have an excellent opportunity for a Service Lead and Specialist Dietitian for the Low Calorie Diet Programme to join a leading CQC registered provider of Community Health Services in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. A full job specification will be provided on application.

Our client is an exciting fast-paced, growing community health organisation. As an experienced provider of community health services, they are CQC registered and passionate about delivering evidence based, innovative, effective and relevant health care services and are commissioned by NHS England to deliver the innovative Low Calorie Diet Programme.

The programme aims to support people who are overweight and living with type 2 diabetes to achieve weight loss, reduce their health risk factors, decrease the amount of medication they need and for some, even put their diabetes into remission and is being delivered across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

About the role
As a Service Lead and Specialist Dietitian for the Low Calorie Diet Programme, you will effectively lead the team delivering the NHS Low Calorie programme and provide operational leadership and management with overall responsibility and accountability for delivering the project outputs and outcomes of the service across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring services are delivered and developed to provide a high-quality, safe and effective service that responds to the needs of the client, effectively communicate to the referrers
  • and adheres to the service specification
  • Be an influencer working closely alongside ICS partners to build relationships and successfully drive patient referrals to ensure contract success
  • Innovating and improving operational setup as the service grows
  • Working alongside team members and the Integrated Care Systems (ICS)
  • Delivering training to stakeholders on the NHS Low Calorie programme and supporting GP Practices with referrals working alongside the ICS
  • Chairing meetings and reporting on qualitative and quantitative data
  • Analysing data, writing reports and discussing these with the commissioners with support from the professional lead
  • Problem-solving referral driving activity
  • Lead and coordinate staff to facilitate service delivery
  • Leading staff meetings, providing clinical supervision and regular 1:1 support to staff
  • Supporting staff in using motivational interviewing and behavioural change skills, working through any potential barriers to attendance and keeping patients committed to achieving their outcomes throughout the programme
  • Quality assurance for delivery staff, data and record keeping
  • Performance management of staff
  • Building a strong commissioner relationship and embedding in the local economy
  • Monitoring performance and feeding back to the Performance Review Board
  • Monitoring expenses and budget management
  • Analyse and report client feedback and delegate necessary service development actions
  • Accurately input data on the database and ensuring the validity of data
  • Manage your own client caseload and prioritising your workload
  • About you
    To be successful in the role of Service Lead and Specialist Dietitian for the Low Calorie Diet Programme you must have / be:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate HCPC approved dietetic programme
  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership when introducing change
  • Highly organised manager who is adept at devising and implementing efficient, patient-centred processes whilst managing your own caseload
  • Confident in using and analysing data to improve KPI performance
  • Confident to write reports and lead contract review meetings with the commissioners
  • Able to work collaboratively with teams across the business as the lynchpin for operational success in this NHS contract
  • Previous experience running an NHS service is preferable
  • About the rewards
    For the role of Service Lead and Specialist Dietitian for the Low Calorie Diet Programme you will work 40 hours per week and there is a competitive salary on offer of Β£32,000 to Β£36,000 per annum. Benefits include:
