The Role

Reporting to the Head of Merchandising with a dotted line to the Sales Director, this role oversees mainly the DTC Brick-and-Mortar channels but is adjacent to Ecommerce and Marketplace, whilst ensuring the company strategy is executed from an omnichannel standpoint. This role is a 12-month FTC cover overlooking all Retail Merchandising functions.

Main Responsibilities

  • FORECASTING AND OTB MANAGEMENT
    • Set up Sales and Planning tools / WSSI to accurately track sales and manage stock inventory across DTC channels.
    • Monitor Retail, Ecommerce and Marketplace performance and Season S/Ts.
    • Monitor and review OTB, highlight opportunities and propose actions.
  • SEASONAL BUY - SELECTION, QUANTIFYING, SIZING
    • Management of market timelines and Critical Path deadlines.
    • Carrying out end-of-season analysis and forward season planning in preparation for Market.
    • Ensuring OTB and buying strategy is signed-off with the relevant departments.
    • Upkeep of store capacity framework and ensure its implementation.
    • Working closely with the store and Product Merchandising in preparing the seasonal Retail, Ecommerce and Marketplace Buys, aligning this to DTC channel needs but also Company Strategy and Wholesale buying trends.
  • STOCK MANAGEMENT: REPLENISHMENT AND TRANSFERS
    • Identify replenishment or transfer needs across channels and work with the Wholesale team to manage and optimise shared company inventory.
    • Manage Markdown lists in conjunction with Product Team and make recommendations from a DTC standpoint.
    • Closely liaise with the Logistics team to oversee stock levels and discrepancies.
    • Support with the Off-price product process.
  • IN-SEASON TRADE AND COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY
    • Prepare complete trade packs on a weekly and seasonally basis and presenting sales and stock performance to the relevant teams.
    • Identifying commercial opportunities to maximise trade and submit insightful and qualitative feedback and trade opportunities to the Commercial and Product teams.
    • Make recommendations on how to potentialize sales through markdowns, repeats vs. discontinuations.
    • Maintain presence in store to understand the customer, product, deliveries and ongoing VM rotations.
    • Evaluate competitively the surrounding trading space across channels and propose commercial actions.
    • Periodical customer profiling across channels.
    • Deliver Product training to stores and key stakeholders in the marketplace.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-year experience at Retail Merchandiser / Buyer level with full ownership over Department/Category, and proven track record of successfully developing owned area of the business;
  • Background in WRTW / Accessory Luxury Fashion market with awareness on market trends, key players and competitors;
  • Excellent Communicator with polished presenting skills; the ability to present feedback and information efficiently and concisely;
  • Highly numerate;
  • Experienced/Advanced user of Excel;
  • Experience of systems including Zedonk and Shopify preferred;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data to produce reports accurately and efficiently.
