Era4 develops, owns and operates AI infrastructure across the UK, powered by renewable energy. Converting legacy industrial and energy sites into modern data‑centre facilities, Era4 is combining brownfield regeneration opportunities with cleaner, efficient, scalable compute capacity for healthcare, research, finance, enterprise, and public‑sector organisations.

We’re now looking for a Technical Project Manager (Design) where you’ll work directly with senior leadership, architects, and delivery teams to orchestrate the entire design phase of complex, high‑impact programmes. You’ll shape the processes, governance, and analytical frameworks that ensure design work is delivered with clarity, rigour, and pace. If you’re a structured thinker who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working at the intersection of technology and operations, and wants to see your work influence outcomes from day one, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design‑phase planning across one or more workstreams, ensuring all design activities are sequenced, resourced, and delivered on time and quality standards.
  • Own and maintain detailed project plans, RAID logs, and milestone trackers for the design phase, providing accurate and timely reporting to the PMO.
  • Coordinate dependencies between design, architecture, and delivery teams, escalating blockers and conflicts proactively.
  • Facilitate design governance forums, preparing papers, capturing decisions, and tracking actions through to closure.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for design‑phase stakeholders, managing expectations and maintaining clear lines of communication.
  • Support the transition from design into delivery, ensuring all outputs are documented, signed off, and handed over effectively.

Required skills:

  • Experience in managing software development projects, Agile methodologies and workstream management.
  • Experience with automated infrastructure deployments, including WAN networking.

Why Join Era4:

You’ll be joining a mission‑driven start‑up building critical national infrastructure, where operational excellence directly enables growth. This role offers high visibility with leadership, real autonomy, and the chance to shape how a next‑generation company operates at scale.

Diversity & Inclusion:

Era4 is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
