We’re seeking a Data Centre Facilities Supervisor to ensure our data centres operate at peak safety, reliability, and efficiency. This role sits at the heart of Era4’s mission‑critical infrastructure, overseeing the electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems that keep our environments stable, secure, and resilient. You’ll take ownership of day‑to‑day operations, preventive and predictive maintenance, incident response, and continuous improvement across our facilities. From managing UPS systems and liquid‑cooling HVAC equipment to coordinating contractors and ensuring compliance, you’ll safeguard the infrastructure that powers our services. This role requires a hands‑on technical leader who can diagnose complex issues, guide maintenance activities, uphold rigorous safety standards, and ensure all systems meet enterprise‑grade expectations for uptime, security, and operational excellence. Please only apply if you can commit to being onsite in Chesterfield 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation and maintenance of all critical electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/liquid‑cooling systems across the data centre.
  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, ensuring reliability, uptime, and rapid incident response with structured root‑cause analysis.
  • Manage and optimise critical infrastructure performance including UPS, generators, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, and BMS/EMS systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards, LOTO procedures, permits‑to‑work, fire suppression protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation including SOPs, single‑line diagrams, asset registers, and commissioning records.
  • Supervise vendors, contractors, and third‑party technicians while managing service contracts, warranties, and project deliverables.
  • Support facility upgrades, retrofits, and capital projects from scoping through commissioning, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.

Technical Expertise

  • Hands on experience with data centre electrical and mechanical systems (main power feeds, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDUs, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pump skids and busbar systems).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, temperature/humidity control, airflow management and cooling load optimisation.
  • Proficiency with BMS/EMS platforms including alarms, trend analysis, setpoint management and commissioning.
  • Ability to read and update technical drawings (SLDs, P EIT/FE in US; electrical safety certifications).
  • NFPA, OSHA, LOTO training (as applicable).
