We are seeking a hands-on Estates & Asset Manager to take responsibility for a mixed portfolio of residential, retail and distribution assets. This role is focused on bringing clarity, control and value to the estate. You will map the portfolio, implement a practical management system, and actively drive asset improvements and disposals through to completion. You will take ownership of understanding every asset, organising the estate effectively, and ensuring actions are executed with pace and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Mapping & Control
    • Build a complete, accurate view of the estate
    • Map all properties, ownership structures and key data
    • Create and maintain a clear management system
    • Ensure all information is accessible, consistent and up to date
    • Provide clear, practical recommendations on hold/sell/improve decisions
  • Disposals & Portfolio Rationalisation
    • Identify non-core or underperforming assets
    • Prepare properties for sale (including resolving issues where needed)
    • Manage disposals end-to-end in coordination with agents
    • Keep momentum through to completion
  • Portfolio “Clean-Up”
    • Identify gaps, risks and inefficiencies across the estate
    • Resolve legacy issues (condition, compliance, tenancy, presentation)
    • Bring assets to a standard suitable for retention or sale
  • Financial & Strategic Support
    • Understand value, costs and return across the portfolio
    • Support decision making with clear, straightforward analysis
    • Work closely with the Finance Director to align property strategy with financial objectives

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in property, estates, or asset management
  • Experience with disposals and portfolio rationalisation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to bring structure to complex portfolios
  • Comfortable building and managing simple tracking systems (e.g. Excel)
  • Hands-on, proactive and able to work independently
  • Ability to confidently work directly with senior stakeholders
