Job Summary: Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs to the group estates electrical components and all other relevant building systems. Role will require some travel to cover all sites across the estate including Oldham, Sheffield and Cornwall.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- The pre-planned and reactive to the group estate of commercial and domestic buildings, the time split between building services and construction duties is around a 70/30 split.
- Working with the full engineering team liaising with other specialisms where necessary.
- Troubleshooting, evaluating, and recommending equipment/service upgrades when required.
- Ordering parts and supplies as required and maintain stock and inventory control.
- Performing all assigned work to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the site.
- Maintaining the BSSL reputation for high standards of work and professionalism at all times.
- Complete maintenance repairs and installation of electrical systems on a full range of commercial and residential properties.
- Complete repairs and maintenance on a full range of electrical systems, including fire alarms, call systems etc.
- Complete the installation of new and refurbished electrical systems using a full range of installation materials and techniques.
- Complete routine checking and testing of all types of electrical systems, including the location and repair of faults.
- To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
- Welcome new starters into the team and provide peer support where possible.
- Cascade learning where you have the capability and authority to do so, including tool box talks.
- Share knowledge on companywide updates and initiatives.
- Perform other duties within your capabilities as assigned.
Key Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Substantial, relevant experience in commercial environment.
- NVQ/ C&G in Electrical Installation.
- 2391 Test and Inspect.
- 18th Edition.
- Valid UK Driving License.
- CSCS Skill Card.
- Well versed in completing paperwork including PPM paperwork, inspection sheets, RAMS etc.
- The ability to work in accordance with health and safety requirements as a matter of routine.
- Good working knowledge of the building services environment and other disciplines would be a distinct advantage.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate journey and workload planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of managing others desirable but not essential.
