About the Role BIM Technician on the Yorkshire Water framework. The role involves delivering BIM and digital outputs across the project lifecycle, from concept design through to commissioning, and supporting the development and application of BIM standards and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver CAD/BIM design data and undertake quality control processes, contributing to the development of CAD/BIM standards.
  • Use 3D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, asset data capture, digital rehearsal and cost capture.
  • Support the development of the common data environment (Autodesk BIM 360) platform and processes.
  • Create and develop a standardised BIM element library, supporting model reuse, a production approach, and the identification of affordable and low‑carbon solutions.
  • Take responsibility for cyber‑security aspects associated with CAD/BIM data and access.
  • Validate CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate them into our own models.
  • Work with designers to manage the competing tensions of time, cost and quality.
  • Manage safety, wellbeing, environment and sustainability within BIM/CAD output.
  • Support teams in understanding BIM and supervise the work of less experienced BIM technicians, providing technical and professional guidance.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Computer‑aided design (CAD), BIM or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Knowledge of water, wastewater, non‑infrastructure or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience authoring 3D models in a common data environment platform (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360).
  • Understanding of working in a common data environment platform and managing BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Understanding of key principles of information management as set out in ISO 19650.
  • Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver results within short timeframes, prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
