We are looking to recruit a Procurement and Pricing manager who will be responsible for the successful and timely delivery of all tendering and market pricing requests, working with department managers and SLT to optimise interdepartmental relationships and engaging with suppliers to maintain strategic and profitable partnerships.
They will be a dynamic individual who encourages a culture of continuous improvement, leading the review and scrutiny of ways of working to ensure processes are compliant and operationally efficient, with a comprehensive understanding of the team’s commercial impact on the business. They will lead a team of subject matter experts in the procurement and pricing team, supporting the coaching and development of their reports, providing regular 1-1’s and ensuring they are engaging with the wider business and promoting the values of the business across all internal and external interactions.
Pricing and Procurement Managers have to be at their best in periods of high demand, balancing workload for a team of process experts to ensure positive operational practice, whilst pivoting to accommodate new business demands.
A successful Procurement and Pricing Manager candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications that typically include:
- Essential
- Minimum of five years experience in an electricity & gas pricing role or equivalent tendering capacity.
- Comprehensive understanding of flexible, basket and fixed supplier contract arrangements, electricity and gas market structures and the end to end procurement and pricing journey.
- Experience in building strong working, and trusted relationships with Energy Suppliers.
- Experience in producing and maintaining department level reporting to demonstrate team and business output and supplier engagement.
- Experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including managing challenging conversations.
- Ability to maintain positive operational relationships with key internal departments, collaborating and negotiating priorities to optimise customer experience and commercial position.
- Demonstrable experience in embracing an environment of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Desirable
- Experience in product origination or structured product design.
- Exposure to data analytics, price shape optimisation or demand side management.
- An understanding of broader business commercial arrangements and the impact that pricing and procurement operations have on them.
