Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management and resolution of complex, high-profile claims across multiple business lines, ensuring effective delivery and positive client outcomes.
- Serve as the primary claims contact for a key strategic client, overseeing the full claims relationship and aligning claims strategies with wider commercial objectives.
- Identify coverage opportunities, risks, and potential disputes at an early stage, developing and implementing effective resolution strategies.
- Present clear, well-reasoned claims positions to clients, insurers, and other stakeholders through both written and verbal communication.
- Manage the full claims lifecycle, ensuring timely insurer engagement, settlement agreement, and payment execution.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, insurers, external experts, and internal stakeholders to maintain clear communication and progress claims efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior market stakeholders, enhancing credibility, trust, and long-term client value.
- Partner with broking and client-facing teams to provide claims insights, support renewals, and strengthen overall client service delivery.
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure accurate claims funding, reconciliations, and resolution of payment queries.
- Support workload management, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to maintaining high performance standards across the wider claims function.
- Monitor market developments and emerging trends to inform client strategies and improve claims outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years’ claims experience gained within insurance, broking, legal, or loss adjusting environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of complex commercial insurance claims, including Canadian Casualty, Property, and Professional Liability classes.
- Proven ability to manage senior client relationships and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a commercial mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- ACII qualification preferred, with a minimum of Dip CII or equivalent professional qualification.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Law, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing strategic or multinational client accounts.
- Previous team leadership, mentoring, or people management experience.
- Exposure to international claims programmes and cross-border stakeholder management.
