An excellent opportunity for an experienced Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join a high-performing specialty insurance and reinsurance business operating within the Lloyd’s market. This role offers the chance to contribute to a technically strong and commercially focused risk function, supporting underwriting teams through catastrophe modelling, portfolio analysis, and risk management activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the business understand and manage catastrophe exposure while contributing to strategic decision-making and portfolio optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct catastrophe modelling and exposure analysis across insurance and reinsurance portfolios.
  • Support underwriting teams with risk assessments, pricing insights, and portfolio management analysis.
  • Produce regular catastrophe risk reports for internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Analyse portfolio accumulations, concentrations, and emerging catastrophe risk trends.
  • Assist with regulatory, Lloyd’s, and internal reporting requirements relating to catastrophe risk.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, exposure management, and risk management teams to support business objectives.
  • Contribute to model validation, data quality initiatives, and continuous improvement of catastrophe risk processes.
  • Support strategic planning through scenario testing, stress testing, and portfolio optimisation exercises.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in catastrophe modelling, exposure management, or catastrophe risk analysis within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of catastrophe risk principles and modelling methodologies.
  • Experience using industry-standard catastrophe modelling platforms and analytical tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong working relationships across the business.

Desirable but Not Essential:

  • Experience working within the Lloyd’s or London Market insurance sector.
  • Knowledge of property and specialty (re)insurance portfolios.
  • Experience with portfolio optimisation, scenario analysis, or capital modelling activities.
  • Progress towards a relevant professional qualification or degree in a quantitative discipline.
