An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller to join a collaborative finance operations function within the insurance sector on a 12-month fixed term basis. This role plays a key part in managing aged debt, maintaining strong broker and client relationships, and supporting effective cash flow management across the business. The position offers exposure to a fast‑paced, technically focused environment where cross‑functional collaboration and problem‑solving are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage credit control activities across allocated accounts
  • Monitor overdue balances and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Investigate and resolve outstanding debt and account queries in a timely manner
  • Analyse aged debt trends and provide recommendations to improve collections performance
  • Allocate signings to receivables and manage cash allocation queries
  • Allocate taxes and premiums accurately, resolving related discrepancies where necessary
  • Liaise with brokers, clients, finance teams, underwriting teams, and claims functions to resolve technical or operational issues
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation
  • Support review meetings through follow‑up actions and reporting updates
  • Assist with ad hoc finance operations tasks as required

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Credit Control role within the Lloyd's insurance or reinsurance market
  • Strong understanding of insurance credit control processes and aged debt reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience using macros
  • Good understanding of bureau systems and related procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Confidence in challenging existing processes and identifying improvements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Knowledge of London Market insurance and reinsurance products
  • Awareness of SOX controls and compliance requirements
  • Associate or membership status with the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM)
