The Role – Day-to-Day Duties

As Teacher of Drama, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 3–4. Duties will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Drama lessons in line with the curriculum
  • Teaching mixed-ability classes across KS3 and KS3–4
  • Assessing, monitoring, and recording student progress
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment
  • Contributing to the wider life of the department during the cover period
  • Following school policies and procedures at all times

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher of Drama with QTS or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching Drama at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and confident delivery across KS3 and KS3–4
  • Good classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons independently
  • This role is not suitable for ECTs (NQTs)
