Interim Financial Controller | 8 months | Essex (5 days per week in office)
Responsibilities
- Management of Finance Team of 6 via 2 direct reports - Managing and mentoring the accounting team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Control).
- Financial Reporting: Overseeing the month-end and year-end "close" process. Ensuring the delivery of accurate balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
- Development of commercial reporting for sales and marketing teams.
- Development of dispute resolution process in US Accounts receivable area.
- Supporting the FY27 budget process.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Enforcing policies to prevent fraud and errors. Ensuring the company adheres to local and international standards.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitoring liquidity to ensure the company can meet its obligations (payroll, suppliers) and managing banking relationships.
- Provide support to Sage X3 system development project.
- Lead the year end audit process.
- Lead tax projects such as R&D, Capital Allowance review, Settlement Agreement & P11d.
- Manage Corporation Tax instalments and assist in the year end assessment.
- Review and approve expenses for the Executive team.
- Lead the Group Insurance renewal process.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified.
- Advanced Excel: Proficiency in complex modelling, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs/Macros is a standard baseline.
- Manufacturing/FMCG/Stock experience preferred ideally in an SME company.
- Commercial experience of supporting performance of sales teams ideal as well as highly skilled with strong accounting experience.
