Role Purpose
Later life lending will form the core of the role, with responsibility for providing regulated advice to clients aged 55 and over on lifetime mortgages, retirement interest-only (RIO) products, and other later-life borrowing solutions. Alongside this, you will also advise on conventional residential mortgages and appropriate protection solutions, ensuring holistic, compliant advice across borrowing and protection needs. All appointments are pre-booked, enabling you to focus on high-quality fact-finding, suitability assessments, research, and clear product recommendations that deliver strong client outcomes. You will operate in line with FCA requirements, internal compliance procedures, and Equisure’s professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive fact finds with clients to fully understand their circumstances, needs and preferences.
- Provide compliant, clear, and personalised recommendations across later-life lending products.
- Prepare suitability reports and documentation to the standard required by FCA rules and internal procedures.
- Manage your client pipeline effectively, ensuring timely follow-up and excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to all regulatory reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively with administrators, paraplanners and management to ensure smooth case progression.
- Participate in ongoing CPD to maintain competency (annual CPD requirement reaffirmed in employee terms).
- Uphold Equisure’s values, including professionalism, confidentiality, anti-fraud standards, adherence to Money Laundering policy, and high ethical conduct.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of lifetime mortgages, RIO mortgages, and lender criteria.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with older clients.
- Ability to explain complex financial products in a clear and empathetic way.
- Strong understanding of FCA rules, including consumer duty responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and compliance under pressure.
- A clean credit history (required by Equisure for regulated roles).
- Satisfactory DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
- Experience working within an equity release or later-life lending firm.
- Understanding of vulnerable client protocols.

Working Hours
- 43.75 hours per week
- 8:45am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
- Paid 1-hour lunch break.
