Role: The Infrastructure Engineer / SRE (Cloud AWS) reports to the Infrastructure Manager and works closely with 3 other Infrastructure Engineers, the Support, Business Analyst and Development teams. In this role you will help to deliver new and existing software products to the industry and ensure our clients can continue to depend on our services. Responsibilities will primarily be concerned with infrastructure for our SaaS offering, the internal development environment and occasionally assisting with our clients’ own infrastructure.
Your Day with Equisoft:
- Provide infrastructure cover during the following shifts: 0730 to 1600, 0830 to 1700, 0930 to 1800.
- Maintain hosting infrastructure to ensure the integrity and availability of all web, DB and messaging systems to satisfy client expectations and SLAs.
- Manage servers in development, test and production environments.
- Monitor and respond proactively to infrastructure events including availability and capacity management.
- Evaluate, recommend, and perform infrastructure design, upgrades and changes.
- Own, investigate and resolve production infrastructure issues.
- Assist the DBA with database administration activities.
- Work with clients and the development team to define infrastructure requirements and implementation configurations.
- Provide technical support to the Service Delivery and Development teams.
- Contribute to project delivery, owning specific infrastructure tasks such as impact and performance evaluation of new software.
- Identify areas for process improvement, driving automation initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
- Provide scheduled out of hours cover including future 24/7 on-call availability.
Requirements:
Technical:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role with prior 4-5 years of experience in IT Support role.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- Practical experience of Windows Server and Linux server.
- NginX, firewalls, IIS, web services and virtualisation.
- Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs etc.
- Knowledge of administering MS SQL server.
- Using and maintaining PowerShell scripts, functions and modules.
- SFTP Server administration.
- Good understanding of core network principles.
- Containerisation, particularly Docker.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

- Willingness to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong sense of organisation and prioritisation.
