- Take ownership of Health & Safety across a busy catering/CPU kitchen, supporting a team of up to 40 people.
- Proactively identify hazards, assess risks and prevent accidents before they happen.
- Carry out regular site inspections and risk assessments, ensuring safe working practices are followed day to day.
- Ensure the operation remains compliant with relevant Health & Safety and food safety legislation.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying causes and putting practical preventative measures in place.
- Work closely with operational and kitchen teams to embed safe working practices into everyday routines.
- Deliver clear Health & Safety guidance, training and toolbox talks to employees.
- Monitor areas such as manual handling, slips and trips, equipment safety, COSHH, fire safety and PPE.
- Build a strong, positive safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for keeping themselves and others safe.
- Maintain accurate Health & Safety records and documentation, while keeping the main focus on visible, practical safety management on site.
Ideal candidate: Someone with Health & Safety experience gained within a catering, CPU, food production or large commercial kitchen environment, who is comfortable being hands‑on and working closely with operational teams.
