Equip Outdoor Technologies UK Ltd based in Alfreton, Derbyshire specialises in the design and marketing of technical outdoor clothing and equipment. Our experienced and enthusiastic team develop innovative designs, manufactured to the highest standard and brought to market throughout the world. Equip Outdoor Technologies owns and operates two leading aspirational outdoor brands, Rab and Lowe Alpine.

Our team is based at our Head Office just outside The Peak District National Park off jct28 of the M1 corridor.

Great opportunity to join our Team as Service Centre and Retail Manager. You will strategically lead and optimise the operations of our Global Service Centre network and Rab Retail Outlets ensuring alignment with wider business objectives. This includes driving sales and margin performance, enhancing service standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through effective team leadership, operational oversight, and resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Global Service Centre & Rab Retail Outlet strategies that align with the wider business objectives and support overall sales & margin performance.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish service standards and key performance indicators for both Service Centres and Rab Retail Outlets.
  • Work closely with the FP&A team on understanding the key metrics and triggers for the Service Centres & Rab Retail Outlets.
  • Oversee operations of the Service Centres and Rab Retail Outlet ensuring efficient processes are in place.
  • Ensure appropriate stock and spare parts are available for the Service Centre & Rab Retail Outlets to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Plan and align resource levels across the Service Centre and Rab Outlets to effectively manage seasonal demand, balancing workload, sales peaks, and operational troughs.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance reviews for Service Centre Staff & Rab Retail Outlets.
  • Oversee budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation for the Service Centre operations & Rab Retail Outlets.
  • Identify operational risks affecting both Service Centres and Rab Retail Outlets and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain high Health and Safety standards across the Service Centre and Rab Retail Outlets, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safe working practices.
  • Manage the Service Centre and Rab Retail Outlet P&L and seek ways to improve performance.
  • Present weekly operational reports, updates, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders and explore opportunities for future Rab Retail Outlets.
  • Analyse Rab Retail Outlet store feedback and sales performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as a core member of the Second Stitch Working Group, playing an integral role in developing, enhancing, and scaling the Tier 1 Second Stitch product offering across global markets.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop Service Centre teams to deliver high-quality support to Rab Wholesale customers.
  • Consider the opportunity for further development of Service Centres in all territories.
  • Monitor and improve workflows and capitalize on Business Central technology platforms.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Set clear annual team objectives and deploy and delegate strategies focused towards achieving those objectives.
Requirements

To join us as Service Centre and Retail Manager you must have:

Essential
  • Ability to develop and execute business strategies.
  • Experience of leading, motivating, training, and performance management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, working effectively with managers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse sales/stock data to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making.
  • Able to monitor and enhance workflows, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Fostering a culture of professional growth and ongoing performance enhancement.
  • Current full driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience of budgeting, cost control, and managing profit and loss (P&L) for multiple business units and service channels.
  • Project management.
