# What does the job involve?The Control Room Leader is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operation of the Greater Wash asset (Dudgeon, Hywind Scotland and Sheringham Shoal) 24/7 Offshore Wind Control Room located in Great Yarmouth. The role provides leadership to Control Room personnel and ensures the delivery of critical operational services including high-voltage network control, SCADA monitoring, marine coordination, emergency response support, production reporting and operational communications. The Control Room Leader will ensure that operational activities are performed in compliance with company procedures, grid requirements, electrical safety rules, statutory regulations and industry best practice, whilst driving continuous improvement in operational performance and workforce capability.# What will my tasks be?Within this position, your key tasks will be to:* Ensure personnel are trained, qualified and scheduled to maintain 24/7 shift coverage.* Ensure effective wind turbine and high-voltage transmission system monitoring and operational control.* Ensure emergency response plans are maintained, tested and understood by personnel.* Ensure compliance with Electrical Safety Rules and Control of Work processes.* Ensure effective coordination of offshore personnel transfers, tracking and vessel operations.* Ensure production forecasting and generation reporting obligations are satisfied.* Maintain operational interfaces with and act as Control Point Person towards NESO and relevant transmission stakeholders.* Support and monitor compliance with grid codes and commercial operational requirements.* Ensure operational instructions from external system operators are executed appropriately.* Develop and maintain Control Room documentation, procedures and operational records.* Ensure Control Room facilities, systems, equipment and support functions remain fit for purpose.* Collaborate with and represent the Control Room towards internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include:* Act in accordance with our ‘shape, empower and deliver’ leadership expectations.* Promote a strong safety culture.* Lead, coach, develop and line manage a team of Control Room personnel.* Ensure all activities comply with company management systems, industry regulations and statutory requirements.* Monitor Control Room performance, workload and resilience, and deliver operational improvement initiatives.* Deputise for direct line manager, as and when required.# Here's what we expect from you:At Equinor, there are some overall qualities we regard as essential. And for this specific position, we are also looking for:* HNC/HND or degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering. (Relevant experience can be considered in place of formal academic qualifications.)* IOSH/NEBOSH qualification (desirable).* Strong operational experience within offshore wind, power generation, transmission, distribution or similar critical infrastructure.* Thorough working knowledge of the UK Grid Code and power system operations.* Experience leading operational teams in a Control Room or 24/7 environment.* Strong understanding of operational risk management and safe systems of work.* Experience of completing and/or delivering HV authorisation training.* A clear and confident communicator, fluent in spoken and written English, with strong interpersonal skills.*Please note that recent changes to the UK immigration rules have tightened the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.
