About the Role

If you are an experienced Electrical Engineer or Electrician who enjoys working on large, complex building systems, this is an opportunity to apply your skills in a highly professional, safety‑critical environment – without needing prior data centre experience. You will maintain and operate electrical, mechanical, and life‑safety systems within our advanced Data Centre LD13, ensuring everything functions 24/7. You will work alongside experienced engineers, follow clear procedures, and steadily gain exposure to complex infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical & Building Systems
    • Electrical distribution systems, backup power, and plant equipment
    • Planned preventative maintenance and fault finding
    • Diagnosing and responding to alarms from building and power monitoring systems
    • Supporting safe operation of live environments with clear procedures
  • Maintenance & Fault Response
    • Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and associated systems
    • Investigate faults, failures, and abnormal readings and help restore systems safely
    • Make minor electrical or mechanical changes where required
    • Escort and supervise specialist contractors on site
  • Safety, Permits & Documentation
    • Work with permits and method statements (training provided if new)
    • Complete maintenance logs and work records
    • Follow strict safety, isolation, and escalation processes
  • Teamwork & Development
    • Work closely with other engineers and technicians on site
    • Share knowledge and support colleagues with general maintenance activities
    • Contribute ideas to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency

What You Bring

  • A solid background as an Electrician or Electrical Engineer
  • Experience working on building services, industrial plant, or complex facilities
  • Confidence in fault finding electrical systems using procedures and documentation
  • Comfortable working in a structured, safety‑critical environment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Electrical qualification (NVQ level 3, LV/HV certification, BS:7176), or strong practical experience
