Job Summary
Leads the Commissioning and Quality strategy and execution across EMEA for large-scale Data Centre construction programmes, including greenfield and retrofit sites. Responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery of Commissioning and Quality activities that enable successful project outcomes, operational readiness, and achievement of Ready for Service (RFS) milestones.
Responsibilities
- Programme Leadership
- Lead regional Commissioning and Quality programmes across multiple concurrent construction projects
- Develop and implement standardised commissioning plans, schedules, and delivery frameworks
- Oversee pipeline planning to inform resource allocation and execution strategy
- Partner with Construction, Operations, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery
- Provide input into project budgets, testing strategies (FAT/FPT), and Critical Environment Programmes
- Stakeholder & Customer Leadership
- Act as senior point of contact for customer engagement during commissioning
- Present progress against commissioning milestones, including RFS readiness
- Lead resolution of escalations to maintain stakeholder confidence and delivery outcomes
- Operational Excellence
- Drive adherence to commissioning standards, governance, and best practices
- Lead continuous improvement of commissioning processes and frameworks
- Standardise commissioning scopes and schedules aligned to customer requirements
- Reporting & Insights
- Own commissioning reporting across projects, ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Oversee production of commissioning documentation, test procedures, and operational readiness reports
- Leverage data and insights to improve performance and inform future delivery
- Vendor & Partner Management
- Lead commissioning vendor strategy, including RFPs, selection, and performance management
- Define vendor KPIs, conduct business reviews, and drive continuous improvement
- Lead external commissioning resources and governance forums
Qualifications
- Significant data centre commissioning experience in mission-critical environments
- Proven leadership across large, complex construction programmes
- Strong technical expertise in electrical and/or mechanical systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
