The VP Digital Strategy and Business Operations is a pivotal role responsible for charting the strategic direction of the Digital and Innovation Office (DIO) and driving the execution of strategy via a hub and spoke model. Reporting to the Digital COO, this leader assumes high-impact leadership and serves as a primary advisor. The VP serves as the architect of the DIO operating model, translating strategy into a cohesive, actionable enterprise imperative. Beyond managing daily operations, the VP leads a team of strategists and operators to solve DIO’s most complex structural challenges and ensures the organization remains agile during rapid scaling. Acts as the “connective tissue” across the entire organization, ensuring that capital, talent, and technology are deployed against the highest‑leverage opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Enterprise Strategy & Governance
- Develop the DIO strategy, converting it into a clear operational plan outlining the foundational processes and systems needed to translate it into DIO deliverables.
- Develop and communicate executive‑level strategic narratives and operational health updates through value‑realization tracking.
- Manage resource and capital allocation for strategic priorities.
- Organizational transformation and scalability
- Design and continuously refine the DIO operating model to improve decision making, speed, and cross‑functional alignment.
- Establish a Strategy & Operations Center of Excellence to drive standards for project management, data governance, and operational rigor.
- Partner with Change Management to ensure enterprise initiatives are deployed and adopted successfully.
- Resolve cross‑functional friction and serve as the escalation point for inter‑team dependencies.
- Advanced insights and performance management
- Advance reporting from descriptive to predictive analytics to anticipate bottlenecks and risks.
- Lead the DIO KPI deliverables to ensure metrics drive enterprise value and strategic alignment.
- Conduct operational deep‑dives to diagnose performance issues and lead turnaround efforts.
- People Leadership
- Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high‑performing Strategy & Operations team, fostering a culture of rigorous analytical thinking and proactive problem‑solving.
Essential Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Experience: Substantial track record and professional experience, with proven significant leadership capacity in the digital infrastructure, technology sector. Strong background in a top‑tier strategy or management consultancy (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) advising CIO/CDOs combined with in‑house operational leadership is highly preferred. Demonstrated success in managing large‑scale digital transformations in a matrixed environment at a global scale across multiple cultures is essential. 12–15+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a significant leadership capacity.
- Education: MBA from a top‑tier institution or equivalent executive leadership experience.
