Overview
In this role you will define and lead Equinix’s sovereign AI strategy for the Financial Services Industry (FSI) across EMEA, with global relevance. You will translate regulatory and infrastructure needs into a monetizable roadmap and craft differentiated value propositions for field teams and partners. You will own the agentic AI infrastructure narrative for regulated FSI environments, addressing governance, security, data residency, and interoperability. You will collaborate with Product, Marketing, and regulatory stakeholders to position Equinix as a leader in sovereign AI, influencing at executive levels.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead sovereign AI strategy for FSI across EMEA with global relevance and convert market, regulatory, and customer requirements into a commercial roadmap
- Develop differentiated FSI vertical narratives, value propositions, use cases, ROI tools, and competitive positioning for monetization
- Own the agentic AI infrastructure narrative for regulated FSI environments, including governance, security, data residency, and interoperability requirements
- Deliver priority regulatory outputs: DORA due-diligence pack, EU AI Act-aligned reference architecture, CLOUD Act response brief; build reference architecture to show differentiation
- Translate EUCS, NIS2, DORA, GDPR, EU AI Act, SecNumCloud, NCSC frameworks into practical guidance for customers, partners, and field teams
- Develop and execute sovereign AI partner strategies with systems integrators, consulting firms, technology providers, and ecosystem partners
- Engage strategic customers, regulatory institutions, industry alliances, and partners to identify opportunities and shape demand
- Contribute to Knowledge Spine FSI sprint with field-ready sovereign AI use cases and reference materials; represent Equinix at industry events
- Align Product, Marketing, Channel, Digital Infrastructure Operations, Business Development, Customer Success, Sales, and regional teams around the strategy
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in technology, enterprise digital infrastructure, sovereign cloud, or sovereign AI programs
- FSI domain experience or leadership of a major FSI technology program in a large consulting organization
- Deep understanding of EU regulatory frameworks (EUCS, NIS2, DORA, GDPR, EU AI Act, SecNumCloud, BSI C5, NCSC) and procurement requirements
- Strong familiarity with CLOUD Act and European data-sovereignty concerns
- Proven ability to build market propositions and translate regulatory requirements into commercial value
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred

- Technical fluency in AI infrastructure, data residency, and sovereign-cloud architectures
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and their practical implications for cloud deployments
