We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Critical Facilities Engineer Level IV. The position requires a Monday to Friday schedule and offers an opportunity to lead and develop others within the operations team, acting as a technical support and coach for more senior‑level colleagues and supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Facility Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
- Site Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute hands‑on preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit‑to‑work system (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, life safety systems). HV switching experience preferred; LV experience required.
- Repairs & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Planned Maintenance: Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts.
- Incident Response: Assist senior staff in responding to on‑site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
- Work Requests & Installations: Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
- Infrastructure Projects: Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.
- Works Projects: Execute works projects to improve site functionality.
Qualifications
- Educational background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Previous experience in a data centre environment or a closely related industry.
- Technical knowledge: In‑depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. Must have been LV certificated previously.
- Personal attributes: Self‑motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
