Alongside your responsibilities to maintain and ensure the technical operation of all key infrastructure within the Equinix data centres, you will ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out in a timely and correct manner. You will be LV certified and become a point of technical reference for those around you as you support the junior members of the team as well as handle delegated escalations.
Responsibilities
- Lead : Support the team with your experience and prioritise work delegated by your supervisor or manager
- Facility Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
- Site Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute hands on preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit to work system. (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred)
- Repairs & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Planned Maintenance: Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts.
- Incident Response: Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
- Work Requests & Installations: Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
- Infrastructure Projects: Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.
- Works Projects: Execute works projects to improve site functionality
Who are you?
- Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- LV Qualification: Must possess a relevant Low Voltage (LVCP) qualification or certification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) to safely install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems within the data centre environment.
- Experience : water treatment processes, preferably in a data center or industrial setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the UK
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
