Job Summary

The xScale Corporate Development Senior Associate plays a significant role in supporting the Hyperscale and Infrastructure team throughout the lifecycle of our real estate investments. In this role, you will work for a team that has raised $15B of total capital through joint ventures across the world. This role will contribute to joint venture formation, underwriting of new developments, monitoring existing projects, and partner closely with the xScale asset management, finance and development teams to ensure the optimization of our investment processes. The position involves equal parts investment, analytical and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Investment Management

  • Conduct financial modeling for new and existing developments in our global portfolio of assets (AMER, APAC, EMEA)
  • Support preparation of business cases for investment committees
  • Coordinate investment approval process and capex prioritization
  • Assist with annual deliverables for both Equinix and JV partners
  • Evaluate new market opportunities and maintain metro roadmaps
  • Work closely with xScale development, Design & Construction, Capital Markets, Sales and Operations to determine optimal development plans
  • Partner will xScale finance and treasury to ensure alignment on financial reporting obligations and valuations
  • Drive global coordination of investment calendar and approvals
  • Maintain tracking of capital approvals, both internally and externally

JV Formation + M&A

  • Assist in formation of new joint ventures
  • Support buyside and sellside M&A processes
  • Support xScale development team in execution of new real estate acquisitions
  • Analyze deal activity in areas of interest to Equinix
  • Work with potential joint venture partners and advisors to ensure timely execution of deliverables

Qualifications

  • Useful to have finance and accounting experience working Investment Banking, Corporate Development, Real Estate Investments or Private Equity
  • Strong financial modeling and power point capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Capable project manager willing to work cross-functionally with multiple partners globally
  • Exposure to the digital infrastructure space a plus but not required
