Job Summary: We are seeking a Temporary ACAD Engineer to support our engineering and design teams in the development and maintenance of AutoCAD drawings and related processes. This role will focus on standardization, error investigation and repair, management of Xref file structures, development of insertion points, creation of new layers and standards, and automation using AutoCAD Lisp. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Standardization: Assist in the development and implementation of AutoCAD standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all drawings and projects.
- Error Investigation and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot errors in AutoCAD drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Provide timely repairs to maintain project timelines.
- Xref File Structure Management: Organize and maintain external reference (Xref) file structures to optimize drawing performance and facilitate collaboration among team members.
- Insertion Points Development: Establish and manage insertion points for various components within AutoCAD to streamline the drafting process and improve efficiency.
- Layer Development and Standards: Create and maintain a comprehensive layer structure and naming conventions that align with industry standards and project requirements.
- Automation: Design and implement automation solutions to enhance productivity and reduce manual drafting tasks, utilizing AutoCAD’s built-in features and tools.
- ACAD Lisp Programming: Develop and maintain AutoCAD Lisp routines to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflow efficiency, and customize AutoCAD functionalities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and design teams to understand their needs and provide support in drafting and design-related tasks.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of processes, standards, and procedures to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- CFD: Experience in CFD (6sigma) modelling and reporting is preferable.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as an AutoCAD Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of AutoCAD functionalities and drafting standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, including advanced features such as Xrefs, layers, and Lisp programming.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve errors in drawings and processes.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in drafting and documentation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
