Overview: We are seeking a highly strategic, execution‑driven Chief of Staff to support our newly appointed Vice President of Industry Value Engineering. This is a pivotal role at the heart of a new function designed to strengthen our go‑to‑market strategy through deeper customer insight, industry‑specific value propositions, and data‑driven support for complex Strategic and Enterprise deals. The Chief of Staff will serve as a critical partner to the VP—shaping team operations, driving cross‑functional alignment, and ensuring disciplined execution of key priorities across the business. You will help establish the operating rhythm for a high‑impact, fast‑scaling function; streamline communication and decision‑making; and translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, enabling the VP and leadership team to focus on high‑value strategic work by improving communication, cadence, and cross functional effectiveness.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a seasoned industry leader while building the foundation of a new, strategically important organisation within Equinix, and collaborating with VE leadership team, Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure the organisation is well-structured, aligned, and delivering measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Organisational Alignment: Prioritise, delegate, and manage workflow on behalf of the VP to accelerate VE priorities. Lead or support strategic initiatives and cross‑functional projects from planning to execution. Provide structure and improve processes to strengthen communication and operational efficiency.
- Leadership Cadence & Meeting Effectiveness: Own the rhythm of VE leadership meetings, offsites, and cross functional forums. Design agendas, manage preparation, ensure the right stakeholders are engaged, and drive clear outcomes. Represent the VP in meetings when required and ensure continuity of actions and decisions.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Create cohesion across VE and partner teams; ensure strong information flow and alignment. Use influence to drive accountability, remove bottlenecks, and support timely decision‑making. Draft executive‑level content including presentations, communications, and briefing materials.
- Programme Support & Executive Engagement: Coordinate executive visits and internal stakeholder engagements, ensuring clarity of objectives and follow‑up. Capture and track actions from key meetings and ensure delivery across the organisation.
- Organisational Health: Partner with HR on team effectiveness, organisation health, and talent initiatives. Support cultural priorities including Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.
Success Measures
- Clearer prioritisation and smoother workflows across VE.
- Leadership time focused on strategy, not operational noise.
- Stronger alignment across teams and improved decision‑making.
- High‑quality communication and increased organisational cohesion.
- Strategic initiatives delivered end‑to‑end with measurable impact.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting senior leaders in a complex, international environment.
- Background in Value Engineering, Sales, Consulting, or similar strategic/analytical functions preferred.
- Strong programme or project management skills; MSP Practitioner or similar desirable.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and influencing skills.
- Strong business and financial acumen with ability to translate strategy into clear priorities.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, fast pace, and managing cross functional initiatives.
Key Skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and detail focused.
- Exceptional communicator with strong judgement and executive presence.
- Able to work well with diverse personalities and functions.
- Strategic thinker who anticipates challenges and identifies solutions early.
- Trusted partner who leads through influence and discretion.
