We are looking for a hands‑on Electrical Installation Engineer to join our installation projects team. You’ll be a fully qualified electrician or have completed a formal electrical apprenticeship and hold a Gold Card, with solid experience working in live, safety‑critical environments. If you’re currently working in industrial, manufacturing, rail, utilities, construction, facilities, or other infrastructure‑led environments and are looking to move into the data centre industry, this is a fantastic opportunity. Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Project Supervisor, carry out electrical installation activities in line with schedules set by the Suite Build Project Manager.
- Install customer and infrastructure components including:
- Cage systems and mesh
- Commando sockets and distribution boards
- Fibre tray systems and ladder rack
- Cabinets and containment systems
- Infrastructure installations to include:
- Whalebone cable management
- Fibre tray systems
- Carrier ladder rack
- AC/DC power
- Security trays
- Cage mesh and associated containment
Communication
- Build strong working relationships with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in live operational environments.
- Represent the business positively when working within customer suites and shared technical spaces.
Technical
- Support the engineering and operations teams with infrastructure‑related issues.
- Contribute to the review and development of technical facility standards relating to suite build and installation activities.
- Apply best practice from previous industries (e.g. industrial, manufacturing, utilities) to improve installation quality and reliability.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Maintain full compliance with all EHS policies and procedures.
- Work safely within permit‑to‑work systems and controlled environments.
- Support the Technical Manager in the development and improvement of safe systems of work.
- Champion a strong safety culture at all times.
Quality
- Install and work to best practice standards consistently.
- Ensure all operational and technical procedures within the Quality Management System are strictly followed.
- Escalate quality or compliance concerns appropriately to the UK Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
Essential
- Full, formal electrical apprenticeship.
- Experience working in safety‑critical or regulated environments.
- Strong customer focus and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and comfortable learning new systems and environments.
- Full UK driving licence.
- ECS Gold Card.
Desired
- Basic PC literacy and confidence using digital systems.
- 18th Edition and test & inspection qualifications.
- Previous data centre experience (advantageous but not required).
