We are looking for an experienced engineer with a specialisation in water treatment to join our Park Royal Team in London. This role will be Monday to Friday and offers someone the opportunity to support our customers and drive our business forward. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and equipment. We are looking for individuals who are proactive, adaptable, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising water treatment processes to ensure the efficient operation of cooling systems and other water-dependent infrastructure. This is a Monday to Friday role.
What will you do?
Water Treatment:
- Monitoring and maintaining water quality in cooling towers, chillers, and other systems.
- Conducting regular water sampling and analysis to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Implementing water treatment programs to prevent scale, corrosion, and biological growth.
- Collaborating with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve water-related issues.
- Keeping accurate records of water treatment activities and compliance reports.
- Staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Other responsibilities
- Facility Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
- Site Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute hands on preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit to work system. (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred)
- Repairs & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Planned Maintenance: Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts.
- Incident Response: Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
- Work Requests & Installations: Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
- Infrastructure Projects: Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.
- Works Projects: Execute works projects to improve site functionality.
Who are you?
- Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: water treatment processes, preferably in a data center or industrial setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the UK
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
