The Senior Technology Risk & Resilience Partner is a senior member of EQ’s second‑line Risk & Resilience function, responsible for driving effective technology and security risk management across EQ’s global technology estate. The role provides independent oversight, challenge and specialist insight to ensure EQ maintains strong control standards, meets UK/US regulatory expectations, and delivers resilient, secure and well‑governed technology services. The role partners with business and technology leaders to support EQ’s ambition to operate as a digitally enabled, resilient fintech. It oversees risks across internal and third‑party technology, supports resilience practices, and ensures senior leaders understand key technology risk exposures.

Core Responsibilities

  • Technology & Security Risk Oversight: Lead development and enhancement of EQ’s technology and security risk profile. Deliver high‑quality RCSAs and provide guidance on complex technology and security control issues. Ensure risks, controls and assessments meet internal standards and regulatory expectations (including FCA operational resilience, outsourcing and governance requirements). Maintain accurate and complete risk records in the GRC platform.
  • Resilience, Incidents & Lessons Learned: Provide oversight of operational and technology resilience capabilities. Review technology‑related incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and identify thematic trends. Promote a strong “lessons‑learned” culture, ensuring effective and proportionate remediation.
  • Risk Reporting and Insight: Produce dashboards, KRIs, thematic analysis and risk escalations for governance forums. Provide clear, evidence‑based challenge to support informed decision‑making.
  • Resilience by Design and Change Oversight: Partner with technology teams to embed resilience into design, architecture and change delivery. Ensure technology risks are considered early and throughout the change lifecycle. Provide second‑line oversight of outsourcing and third‑party arrangements, including service levels, contractual protections and resilience obligations.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the key interface between first and second line for technology risk. Build strong relationships with Digital Solutions & Data, IT Service Management, Architecture, Information Security and related teams. Support internal/external assurance activities, ensuring issues are identified, challenged and remediated on time. Guide enhancements to EQ’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, ensuring scalability and regulatory alignment.
  • Strong Risk Governance and Culture: Promote strong technology risk culture, ownership and accountability across EQ. Comply with – and advocate for – Conduct Rules and best‑practice governance standards.

Skills, Capabilities & Attributes

  • Strong experience in technology risk and resilience within FCA/SEC‑regulated firms.
  • Deep understanding of operational resilience, outsourcing, security and systems control expectations.
  • Knowledge of frameworks such as ITIL, NIST and ISO standards.
  • Proven ability to challenge effectively while building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills; able to present clear, actionable insights to senior leaders.
  • Strong problem‑solving capability and ability to manage complex priorities with attention to detail.
