Permanent Lead Engineering Recruitment Consultant – Electrical or Software Engineering

📍 Reading Town Centre | 💼 Full-Time, Office-Based | 💰 £35,000 - £50,000 + Uncapped Commission (up to 20%)

Are you an experienced 360 recruiter ready to take the lead and build something of your own? This is a rare opportunity to spearhead the permanent recruitment division within a well-established, niche technical recruitment business. With a thriving contracts offering already in place, we’re now looking for a motivated and commercially minded individual to lead and grow the permanent engineering desk, specialising in Electrical or Software Engineering. You’ll be joining a company with a strong reputation in the engineering sector, excellent market relationships, and a genuine appetite to invest in the right person to build a high-performing perm function.

The Role
  • Take full ownership of the permanent recruitment desk in Electrical or Software Engineering.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop and execute a growth strategy for perm hires.
  • Leverage existing client relationships and build new ones within the engineering space.
  • Run a full 360 recruitment process – from business development to candidate delivery.
  • Identify and build out niche verticals with the potential to scale.
  • Act as the go-to person for all things permanent recruitment in your specialism.

  • Proven experience as a 360 recruiter within engineering or technical recruitment.
  • Deep knowledge of either the Electrical or Software Engineering market.
  • Confidence to work autonomously and take a lead role in building a perm offering.
  • Commercially driven, target-focused, and passionate about delivering quality service.
  • Ambition to build and lead a team as the function grows.
