Whether it’s our clients, our team, our community, or anyone who crosses our path. We believe in creating a positive impact in everything we do. Plus, we’re proudly managing over £1.3bn in assets for our clients.
The Finance and Insight team is looking for a proactive Management Accountant to help deliver accurate, timely financial reporting. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll support the delivery of monthly management accounts, assist with day-to-day accounting activities, and play a key role in building a strong financial understanding of the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone making their first move into industry from practice, who wants to learn quickly, be hands on, and is ambitious and keen to grow with the business within a Private Equity backed environment.
To achieve this, our Management Accountant will:
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded in the Accounts IQ accounting system.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, helping to produce clear and timely reporting with meaningful commentary.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring differences are identified, investigated, and resolved.
- Work with the Finance Manager on budgeting and forecasting processes, helping to build and maintain an accurate financial plan.
- Assist with income reconciliation processes, ensuring strong controls and accuracy of reported income.
- Support risk management and compliance activities, including VAT returns, regulatory reporting, and payroll review processes.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies, building knowledge of regulatory expectations.
- Assist with the annual audit process, working with both internal teams and external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls, particularly through better use of Excel and systems, as your confidence grows.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and wider team initiatives as the business continues to grow and evolve.
Qualifications and experience:
- ACA qualified.
- Practice-trained with hands-on experience across audit and/or accounts preparation.
- Likely coming from a small to mid-sized firm where you’ve gained broad exposure rather than a highly specialised role.
At Equilibrium, we live our values through the following:

We strive for excellence, setting high standards, while fully committing to supporting and nurturing your development, which means we expect your best but we’ll also give you ours.
Helping people live the lives they want to live, look after those they love, and leave powerful legacies is part of the day job. We genuinely want to help create more choices and more freedom for our clients, ultimately making their lives, and the lives of those around them, better.
To support our team's development, we cover the costs of study materials and exam fees for relevant qualifications. Additionally, we offer paid study and exam leave. To ensure a healthy work-life balance, we offer a generous annual leave package. We also offer a flexible working framework, allowing team members to work from home when appropriate and where reasonable, flex their work hours, in line with business requirements.
