Paraplanner: up to £50,000. Senior Paraplanner: up to £70,000.
Most advice firms are built as a pyramid: a handful of advisers at the top, supported by a thinner layer of paraplanners, and fewer support staff again beneath them. Equilibrium built it the other way round. Eight advisers are backed by around 40 planning specialists, each one the named contact for their own client bank, answering the calls, sitting in every client meeting, and often knowing the client's situation better than the adviser does.
The firm has grown organically since 1995, now looks after £1.4bn for more than 1,500 clients from its Wilmslow office, and took investment from Sovereign Capital Partners in 2025 to back its next stage of growth without losing what makes the model work.
We're hiring into that team at two levels.
Paraplanner, up to £50,000
Non-client-facing. You will build the technical foundations behind every recommendation: research, analysis and report writing that gives the client-facing team what they need to advise well. This is the route in if you want to develop your technical depth first, with a clear path to the client-facing role below as you progress.
Senior Paraplanner, up to £70,000
Client-facing. You will become the named point of contact for your own client bank, working alongside an adviser but owning the day to day relationship. Equilibrium's view is that this role now sits closer to co-chair than to the traditional paraplanner working behind the scenes. Level 4 qualified as a minimum, and open to those working towards or holding chartered status.
Both roles suit people who want technical rigour and genuine client responsibility, not just one or the other. What will not work here is treating this as a stepping stone to becoming an adviser. Equilibrium is looking for people who want to build a career as a planning specialist, not use it as a waypoint.
