Equifind are supporting a large US-listed real estate group in the recruitment of a Financial Controller to oversee the finance operations and reporting of their European assets. This will be their first dedicated finance hire in London, joining a newly established office in Marylebone alongside investment, IR, compliance and asset management professionals. As such, the role requires a self-starter with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. The business has billions in real estate assets, primarily across light industrial and industrial sectors, and is expanding rapidly with a focus on Western Europe. This hire will play a key role in building out and future-proofing the finance function. You will have a dual reporting line into the Finance Director in Luxembourg and the CFO in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial management and reporting across a portfolio of real estate SPVs, ensuring accuracy of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Review outputs from third-party accountants / property managers and act as the key point of contact for all financial matters.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing clear insight into asset performance.
  • Manage cash flow, debt obligations and lender reporting, including covenant monitoring.
  • Support asset managers and the wider team on strategic decisions, as well as acquisitions, disposals and refinancing activity.

Application Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualified experience.
  • Experience within a real estate investor, developer or manager.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and take ownership in a lean environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic and international setting.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and decision-making capability.
