Equifind have partnered with a high growth and entrepreneurial Investment management firm, with an AUM of over 15Bn, to hire a senior fund controller to focus on the private credit closed ended structures. The firm has their HQ in London and has a European focus. Their office is based by Farringdon, London. Overall, the firm invests in capital solutions, opportunistic credit, CLOs and structured products as well as this growing private credit offering. The London HQ is home to around 90 professionals, and the CFO is keen to appoint a senior fund controller to strengthen the function.
The role reports into the Head of Funds, who in turn reports directly to the CFO, offering strong visibility and exposure at a senior level. Given the breadth of strategies and structures, the scope of the role - and the opportunity for progression - is significant. The firm’s mantra is to pay front and back office professionals alike very well and based on merit. The firm expects to reach 20bn AUM by year-end and has a clear ambition to grow to 50bn over the next four to five years.
Initially, the focus will be on Luxembourg closed-ended structures across private credit, asset-backed finance, and special situations, involving genuinely interesting investments and complex security structures. In addition, an open-ended public credit fund is being launched, alongside a number of high-profile projects for this hire to lead.
RoleFrom day one, the role will cover approximately 3bn of assets, increasing to 5bn by the end of the year. While the title itself may not immediately stand out, the firm views this position as critical to its growth. It’s an excellent opportunity to join a platform that combines both public and private credit, with the ambition and momentum to become a leading player in Credit. There is a clear career pathway to Head of Funds in the medium term.
The team is small, so directing and working with the outsourced providers is crucial:
- Reviewing NAV packs
- Capital activity, operating expenses review
- Investor statements
- Month end reporting
- Regulatory reporting
- Fund financial statement review
- Management of year end
- Building out processes and continual process improvement and automation
- Ad Hoc projects, multiple projects in the pipeline
LUX close ended fund experience, 10 years+ PQE. Credit experience strongly preferred. Hybrid - Willing to be in the office 4 days a week, with 1 day working from home.
