Company overview: Equifind supports a well‑known broker in recruiting a broad and exciting management/financial accounting role for a financial services firm based in London. The firm offers asset management, wealth management and broking services. It is FCA regulated and an established name in the City with a ‘start‑up agile culture’. Senior management team holds regular ‘town halls’ to discuss strategy and changes. Work is hybrid: office 3 days a week, 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with flexible hybrid working environment.
The team: You’ll report to the Head of Finance within a team of six.
The role: Responsible for financial reporting and controls including coordination of monthly/quarterly timetable across several departments and business units; reviewing and approving accounting entries and related controls; Annual FRS 102 accounts, FCA reporting under IFPR, managing and coaching junior team members. Identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce monthly/quarter end close timelines. Responsible for accurate and timely production of periodic management information. Preparation of annual budgets and other forecasting to aid financial planning and analysis throughout the front office. Liaison with external auditors and coordination of year‑end audit process, providing relevant information and timely responses to queries. Support ongoing enhancement of procedural control environment including compliance with FCA Handbook and other regulatory frameworks. Preparation and filing of company VAT returns and Corporation Tax filings.
Attributes, Education and Skills: Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) and strong academic background including a bachelor’s degree. Strong post‑qualified experience in financial reporting within financial services. Experience within the investment fund industry is a significant advantage. Organised, conscientious, deadline‑focused, with attention to detail. Ability to manage varied workload and handle multiple stakeholder relationships and requests. Ability to manage expectations of managers and business partners including financial professionals with non‑accountancy background. Diligent and responsible individual capable of working autonomously and delivering with and without daily supervision.
