This includes fund accounting, investor reporting, capital activity management, compliance with fund terms, and supporting new fund launches and regulatory requirements. This is a pivotal leadership role in a dynamic VC environment, requiring both technical expertise in fund structures and strategic commercial thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage capital calls, distributions, equalizations, subsequent closes, and investor cash flows in coordination with third-party administrators (TPAs) and depositaries.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality investor reporting (quarterly & annual), including financial statements, investor letters, portfolio updates, PCAP statements, and bespoke LP reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with fund documents (LPA, side letters), FCA regulations, AIFMD, ESG reporting, and international tax considerations.
  • Support new fund launches and extensions, including structuring advice, budgeting, forecasting, and coordination with legal/external advisors.
  • Own the relationship with third-party service providers (fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors) and manage the annual audit process.
  • Provide financial analysis and modelling for fund-level decisions, including scenario planning for drawdowns, DPI/TVPI projections, and fee forecasts.
  • Collaborate closely with the investment team on deal-related finance (e.g., portfolio company funding, follow-on reserves) and with investor relations on LP communications.
  • Drive process improvements, system enhancements (e.g., fund administration software, automation), and scalability as AUM continues to grow.
  • Stay ahead of industry developments in VC fund finance, including evolving regulatory and ESG requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in fund finance/accounting, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or alternatives asset management.
  • Deep knowledge of alternative investment fund structures, partnership accounting, waterfalls, carried interest, and investor reporting in a VC context.
  • Proven track record of leading fund finance teams and managing complex multiple-fund environments.
  • Experience working with third-party administrators and coordinating audits in a regulated environment (FCA/AIFMD preferred).
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to partner with investment professionals and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent Excel/modelling skills; familiarity with fund administration platforms (e.g., Allvue, Investran, or similar) is highly advantageous.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with experience presenting to LPs, senior management, and audit committees.
  • High attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger strategic picture in a fast-growing VC firm.

What We Offer:

  • Highly competitive salary (typically £130,000–£150,000 base depending on experience) + significant performance bonus and carried interest allocation.
