Job Description

A growing UK business is looking for an experienced Fractional Head of Finance to strengthen and modernise its finance function. Working closely with the board, you'll improve financial reporting, controls and management information, ensuring finance becomes a trusted commercial partner to the business.

This is a hands-on assignment for a senior finance professional who can quickly assess the current environment, implement practical improvements, and establish a scalable finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function, strengthening financial controls, governance and reporting.
  • Review existing processes, systems and management information, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver accurate, timely UK GAAP-compliant management reporting and establish a robust month-end close process.
  • Improve costing, margin reporting, budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting to support commercial decision-making.
  • Partner with the Board and senior leadership, providing strategic financial insight and driving continuous improvement.

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience as a finance leader.
  • Proven track record of finance transformation, process improvement and strengthening financial controls.
  • Commercially minded, hands-on and able to make an immediate impact in a growing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fractional finance leader to deliver meaningful change, improve financial visibility and build a finance function that supports long-term growth.

The business are very open-minded – this can flex between 2, 3 or 4 days per week, depending on business need and your availability.
