We’re supporting a high‑growth fintech in the payments space. The business has scaled rapidly, backed by strong investors and operating in an FCA‑regulated environment, they’re now strengthening their finance infrastructure to support the next phase of growth. The team is lean, ambitious, and heavily tech‑enabled. If you want breadth, ownership, and the chance to help shape a finance function in a genuinely scaling environment, this is a compelling move.
This is a hands‑on Finance Manager role within a combined Finance & Data Science team. You’ll own core financial operations, month‑end, reconciliations, payments and supplier management. Alongside this, you’ll gain exposure to FP&A, investor reporting, and commercial analysis that’s rarely available in larger teams. This is an automation‑first finance function. You’ll be expected to improve processes, not just run them. With close collaboration across data science, product, and commercial teams, there’s genuine cross‑functional influence and the opportunity to help build scalable finance infrastructure from the ground up. They’re looking for someone technically strong, fully qualified, and grounded in audit, who can identify gaps, design solutions, and build structure as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month‑end close process, including management accounts, journals, and reconciliations
- Own supplier reconciliations, cost allocations, and daily FX settlements
- Manage the annual audit and act as the primary contact for auditors
- Prepare monthly financial and operational reporting for leadership and investors
- Own statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT returns, and other regulatory submissions
- Lead budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and cash management
- Manage and review outsourced bookkeeping partners
- Partner with teams across the business on P&L reviews, cost optimisation, and commercial initiatives
- Drive process improvement and automation across the finance function
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years’ experience in finance operations
- Recently qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA
- Strong analytical skills and confidence with financial systems & Excel
- Excellent communication skills and a commercial mindset
- Experience with Xero
- Exposure to cross‑currency treasury
- Background in fintech, payments, banking or a scale‑up
- Comfortable working in agile or cross‑functional teams
