It is an exciting time to join Debt Services as we drive huge investment across our business. We have recently migrated all of our platforms and our legacy data centers to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and are about to embark on the next stage of our transformation journey, where we will be integrating with more Google managed services and strategic Equifax platforms. This will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills and have hands-on training whilst influencing and supporting this exciting programme of work!

We are now looking for a hands-on Production Support Engineer to join our team. Service is our number one priority and this is an exciting opportunity to join a new team dedicated to ensuring platform stability and giving our clients the best possible experience!

We are looking for an Intermediate Production Support Engineer to join our team and help maintain the stability and performance of our .NET-based platforms running on Google Cloud. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and implementing small enhancements and bug fixes. Additionally, you will work on automating manual tasks to improve efficiency. While experience with Google Cloud is beneficial, it is not required - you will have the opportunity to learn and receive training as part of the role.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure platform stability.
  • Investigate and fix bugs in .NET (C#) applications.
  • Read and modify existing code to implement small enhancements.
  • Automate manual operational tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with development teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain and improve logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations as needed.
  • Document fixes, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

What Experience You Need:

  • Strong and current experience in a production support or software engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of .NET (C#) and ability to read and modify existing code.
  • Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (SQL Server) and basic query troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (GitHub).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with development teams.

As part of this role, you will be required to obtain and be eligible for SC (Security Check) clearance due to the sensitive nature of the data we process.

What Could Set You Apart:

  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., GCE, GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL).
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Stackdriver, Prometheus, ELK).
  • Scripting experience for automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python).
