The Marketing Business Development Executive is responsible for generating incremental new business by leveraging both our internal and partner propositions. Unlike a traditional, purely hunting role, this position involves an 80/20 split where the majority of your time (80%) will be spent acting as an overlay sales specialist. You will collaborate closely with the existing salesforce to "hunt from within" existing accounts and help them sell these products. The remaining 20% of your time will focus on direct selling to your own sales pursuits. You will also play a key role in establishing go-to-market approaches and materials for internal and external use. Early success in this role relies heavily on your ability to act as a trusted Subject Matter Expert in marketing data for your colleagues.
What You Will Do
- Work within a collaborative co‑selling model where both you and the primary Account Executives are incentivised to win together.
- Learn and master both our own and our partners' propositions to effectively position and sell them to the market.
- Spend approximately 80% of your time as an overlay sales specialist, partnering with existing sales people and accounts to identify, advance, and close opportunities.
- Dedicate 20% of your time to generating new business through your own direct sales pursuits.
- Act as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to colleagues, demonstrating deep knowledge of how businesses use data for marketing to build trust and drive early success.
- Take responsibility for managing and nurturing a select number of existing partner relationships.
- Work cross‑functionally with internal Product, Operation, Sales, and Service teams to evaluate and execute on partner propositions.
- Monitor markets, industries, companies, competitors and sales activities to identify potential opportunities.
What Experience do you need?
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong business development, sales, and/or strategic partnership experience.
- Proven experience navigating complex B2B sales cycles and/or acting as an overlay/specialist to an existing salesforce.
- Cross‑functional team leadership experience and skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, particularly the ability to articulate complex marketing data concepts to internal colleagues and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Well‑developed leadership skills.
What Could Set You Apart
- Deep, practical knowledge of how businesses use data for marketing.
- Previous experience working within a credit bureau, data analytics, or marketing partnerships environment.
