As a Management Accountant at Equifax in Leeds, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our finance function. Operating within a fast-paced, regulated environment, you will be responsible for executing rigorous general accounting tasks, driving the month-end close process, and delivering accurate management reports. What You’ll Do
- Perform regular account reconciliations (including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany) to ensure accuracy and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain and update the general ledger.
- Support the broader finance team with general administrative tasks as required.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and supporting schedules.
- Respond to and support various ad-hoc requests and projects from other team members.
- Assist with internal or external audit preparation as needed.
- Identify and suggest potential process improvements within the general accounting function.
What Experience You Need
- Proven background in a general accounting or accounts assistant role, featuring direct involvement in month-end close procedures.
- AAT Qualified (Level 4) OR actively studying towards a recognized professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) at a Part-Qualified level.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles, including debits, credits, and journal entries.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (specifically VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and basic formulas).
