We are seeking a proactive and experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our HR team. This role is critical in providing expert advice and support on all aspects of employee relations across Equifax UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for managing complex cases, ensuring compliance with employment law, and promoting a fair and consistent approach to people management. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, practical problem-solving, and a strong understanding of UK and Irish employment legislation. You will be based in our Leeds office, with a requirement to work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and with travel to London, Nottingham and Wexford as required.
What You’ll Do

Case Management: Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and absence management, from initiation to resolution in collaboration with HR Business Partners.

Policy & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant UK and Irish employment legislation and company policies. Develop and update HR policies and procedures as required.

Advisory Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on all employee relations matters, promoting best practice and consistency.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential employee relations risks, ensuring proactive and preventative measures are in place.

Analysis: Assisting with termination decisions and attending and recording exit interviews and identifying trends and working with the HR team to action feedback.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with managers, employees, and HR colleagues across UK & Ireland.

Investigations: Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints and allegations.

Training & Development: Deliver training and workshops to managers on employee relations best practices and legal requirements.

Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on employee relations activity and Partner with HRBP’s on proactive resolutions.

Projects and initiatives: Scope to lead People Forum and get involved in Employee Representative Groups

Continuous Professional Development: Attending conferences and events as an employee liaison to keep up to date with current trends and possible improvements and update HR Team as required.
What Experience You Need

Proven experience in a similar Employee Relations role, ideally within a large, complex organisation.

Strong working knowledge of UK and Irish employment law and best practice.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations cases effectively and efficiently.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Proficient in using HR information systems (we use Workday).
