Equifax is seeking a driven and insightful Consultant to join our dynamic Core Analytics team within the Data and Analytics (D&A) division. This role will see you manage the most important analytics tool that Equifax has - the Consumer Retrospective Service. The Retro takes an input file of individuals and recreates how the person would have looked on a given day in the past; calculating summary variables and scores to enable internal and client analysis.

You will oversee the change control process and direct analysts and developers in fulfilling the updates. Key stakeholders are from across the analytics teams and the Product area who will request updates to accompany new product launches. Incidents may require swift action to provide remediation, or you may identify areas for improvement. The Retro Manager is expected to be technically strong and contribute to the updates as well as being able to plan and execute effectively, communicate with stakeholders and provide thorough documentation.

What you’ll do
  • Utilise SQL and Python on Google Cloud Platform to maintain, extend and enhance the code behind the Consumer Retrospective Service.
  • Be responsible for the change control process:
  • provide estimates for new requests
  • manage the flow from pipeline to active work
  • acquire the sign-off level appropriate for the change
  • confirm deployment and inform (or where necessary, train) users about changes
  • Work with stakeholders around the business to understand the prioritisation of the pipeline, balancing user experience, accuracy of service and revenue opportunities.
  • Expand and maintain documentation to assist users and technical developers.
  • Manage 2 - 4 analysts and developers.
  • Maintain a close relationship with data and product specialists to understand how the Retro must behave to best reflect the Live system for existing or new products.
  • Oversee analysis to understand how to improve the accuracy of the service.
  • What experience you need
    • Relevant numerical degree with a 2:1 or above.
    • Proficiency using SQL and Python in a data analytics environment.
    • Use of Git/Github to manage concurrent development in a controlled manner.
    • Experience in the use of credit bureau data.
    • Strong technical expertise and experience of analytics techniques to solve problems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members and stakeholders at various levels of technical understanding.
    • Extensive hands-on experience in a data analytics environment.
    What could set you apart
    • Previous data analytics experience working in a consumer or commercial CRA.
    • Experience using PySpark, and any/all of: BigQuery, DataFlow, DataProc, Airflow (or equivalents).
