Project Manager/Contracts Manager – Small Works & Refurbishment Location: Romsey, Hampshire / South Coast Salary: Competitive + Package We are seeking a Contracts Manager or Project Manager to join a growing construction business delivering small works and refurbishment projects valued up to £250,000. The successful candidate will have a strong trade background, ideally within carpentry, drylining or plastering, and experience managing refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception through to completion. Key Responsibilities * Manage multiple small works and refurbishment projects. * Oversee site teams, subcontractors and suppliers. * Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. * Maintain high standards of quality and compliance. * Liaise with clients, consultants and end users throughout project delivery. * Produce site reports, programmes and project updates. * Manage health & safety documentation and site procedures. Typical Projects * School classroom refurbishments * Educational facility upgrades * Internal fit-outs * Commercial refurbishment works * Maintenance and small works contracts Requirements * Previous experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager within refurbishment, fit-out or small works construction. * Trade background in Carpentry, Drylining or Plastering preferred. * Experience delivering projects up to £250k in value. * Strong client-facing and organisational skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Essential Qualifications * SMSTS or SSSTS * Valid CSCS Card * First Aid at Work Certificate * Full UK Driving Licence Desirable * Experience working within occupied school environments. * Knowledge of public sector and education sector projects. * Temporary Works awareness. * Asbestos Awareness certification.
