We are seeking a Contracts Manager or Project Manager to join a growing construction business delivering small works and refurbishment projects valued up to £250,000.
The successful candidate will have a strong trade background, ideally within carpentry, drylining or plastering, and experience managing refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple small works and refurbishment projects.
- Oversee site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and end users throughout project delivery.
- Produce site reports, programmes and project updates.
- Manage health & safety documentation and site procedures.
- School classroom refurbishments
- Educational facility upgrades
- Internal fit-outs
- Commercial refurbishment works
- Maintenance and small works contracts
- Previous experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager within refurbishment, fit-out or small works construction.
- Trade background in Carpentry, Drylining or Plastering preferred.
- Experience delivering projects up to £250k in value.
- Strong client-facing and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- Valid CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working within occupied school environments.
- Knowledge of public sector and education sector projects.
- Temporary Works awareness.
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
