The Opportunity of the Finance Manager

This is a highly visible role that touches every part of the business. You’ll work closely with directors and department heads, providing insight, control, and support across all financial operations.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager

  • Full financial operations including accounting, reporting, payroll, and tax compliance
  • CIS, VAT (including reverse charge and PVA), and HMRC submissions
  • Purchase and sales ledgers across a high-volume environment
  • Subcontractor payments and monthly CIS returns
  • Payroll for 50+ employees, including pensions and statutory requirements
  • Monthly management accounts, including P&L, accruals, and forecasting
  • Credit control and cashflow management
  • Fixed asset register and depreciation
  • Financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Preparation for year-end audit and liaison with external auditors
  • Data reporting for regulatory bodies (e.g., ONS)
  • A key role in implementing a new in-house system
