The Role of the Commercial Insurance Broker
This is a leadershipāfocused position combining handsāon client management with responsibility for guiding and supporting a team of brokers. You will play a key role in driving business growth, managing a portfolio of commercial clients across a range of sectors, and contributing to the wider strategic direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Insurance Broker
- Develop, grow and manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients
- Provide tailored advice and negotiate competitive insurance programmes
- Drive new business opportunities and support business development strategies
- Manage renewals, midāterm adjustments and new business enquiries
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers and underwriters
- Ensure high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction
- Maintain upātoādate knowledge of insurance products, market trends and compliance
- Ensure all activity complies with FCA regulations and internal procedures
- Provide guidance and support to other brokers as part of the leadership team
About You
- Proven experience as a Commercial Insurance Broker
- Strong knowledge of commercial general insurance products
- Previous leadership or management experience (highly desirable)
- Excellent negotiation and relationshipābuilding skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with handsāon client work
- Strong organisational, communication and problemāsolving skills
- Cert CII qualification (or working towards) preferred
