The Opportunity
As UK Account Manager – Public Sector, you will take ownership of a portfolio of government and public sector accounts, building long-term relationships while identifying and securing new opportunities across central government, local authorities, agencies, and associated public bodies. Working alongside experienced Sales Engineers, channel partners, and technical specialists, you'll lead complex sales engagements from initial discovery through to contract award and ongoing account growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and executing strategic account plans across assigned public sector customers
- Building trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, technical stakeholders, procurement teams, and operational leaders
- Identifying, qualifying, and closing both new business and expansion opportunities
- Positioning innovative solutions across cybersecurity, network visibility, service assurance, and infrastructure performance management
- Managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and procurement processes
- Maintaining accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and account development plans
- Collaborating with technical and channel teams to deliver successful customer outcomes
- Driving territory growth while consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets
What We're Looking For
You’ll be a commercially driven technology sales professional who understands how to navigate the unique challenges and opportunities within the UK public sector.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years' experience selling enterprise technology solutions
- Strong background within cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, service assurance, observability, or enterprise IT
- Demonstrable success selling into UK public sector organisations, government departments, local authorities, or related bodies
- Strong understanding of government procurement frameworks and complex buying processes
- Proven record of quota achievement and pipeline generation
- Experience managing large, strategic customer accounts
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams, partners, and customer stakeholders
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK as required
