We have a great opportunity within Equans Embedded Energy for a
SHE Coordinator to join our maintenance team at Fellside CHP plant and support SHEQ Manager in overseeing all health and safety issues on site.
Equans Embedded Energy operates multiple customer sites with large-scale embedded energy capacity across the UK, providing specialist management of onsite generation for industrial processes and the ability to export to the Grid.
We combine multiple technologies to meet our customers’ specific needs, and provide design, build, operate and maintenance services.

We are experts in many technologies, including combined heat and power (CHP), biomass, and energy from waste.
By locating generation on customers’ sites we provide our customers with industry leading safety management, reduced energy costs and carbon footprint and assured energy security for their operational needs.
- Key Activities
- Work effectively and positively with all px employees, customers, contractors, and visitors to promote a strong safety culture and awareness.
Maintain a clear understanding of personal SHE responsibilities to oneself, colleagues, and the business.
- Provide accurate and relevant SHE advice, procedural direction, and guidance.
- Represent px and the SHE teams positively at internal and external forums requiring SHE input.
Contribute constructively, complete assigned actions, and report outcomes in a timely manner.
- Conduct worksite inspections to the required standards and within agreed timescales. Ensure effective communication and close-out of action points.
- Prepare timely and accurate content for px SHE communication channels, including newsletters, electronic updates, meetings, noticeboards, documentation, and training sessions, as required by the business and external agencies.
- Be fully conversant with px Safe Working Procedures following appropriate training.
- Develop incident investigation skills, produce accurate and timely reports, and ensure effective communication and close-out of recommendations.
- Support the Environmental Engineer with waste management activities and assist in the management of COSHH-related responsibilities.
Skills, qualifications & experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH managing safely with extensive experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience working within a legislative framework with agreed targets.
- Previously worked as part of a team: contributing to and working with others. Willing to take on tasks to help team/develop self.
- Experience of auditing.
- Understanding of risk assessment best practice techniques.
- Methodical, accurate & detail-conscious approach to work.
- Able to deliver training and group presentations.
- Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Completed the required company induction into this role.
