Equans is looking for a Typist to join our facilities team on the Metropolitan Police South East London maintenance contract at Bromley Police Station. This is a permanent, full‑time role (37.5 hours per week, 09:00–17:00 Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute unpaid break). The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Produce typed summaries of taped interviews and transcripts, and type witness/victim statements.
- Work as part of the overall typing team covering the contract.
- Provide general administrative support as required.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and documents.
- Ensure consistently high standards of customer service.
Requirements:
- Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
- GCSE level or equivalent education.
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word.
- Strong attention to detail and proof‑reading skills.
- Organised and able to prioritise a busy workload.
- Can‑do attitude.
- Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting and must have evidence of the right to work in the UK.
